Shabab Alahli beats Alwasl 2-0

Shabab Alahli achieved a well-deserved and got three valuable points, after beating host Alwasl 2-0 in the first leg of Arab Gulf Cup semifinal, at Zabeel Stadium on Monday.

Shabab Alahli took the lead in the 36th through the Brazilian Igor Jesus, while defender Mohamed Jaber added the second goal in the 82nd minute.

The two teams will meet again on March 2nd at Rashid Stadium in the second leg, the result of which determines the the team that will qualify for the cup final.

Shabab Alahli lineup included: Majid Nasser, Hamdan Al-Kamali, Muhammad Jaber, Ahmed Abdullah Jamil, Abdulaziz Sanqour, Abdullah Al-Naqbi, Azizon Janev, Jalaluddin Masharipov, Carlos Eduardo, Federico Cartabia, Igor Jesus.

Second half witnessed three substitutions as: Jalaluddin Masharipov, cartabia and Igor, were replaced by Yahya Al-Ghassani, Muhammad Jumaa and Ahmed Al-Attas.

speaking at the post match press conference, Mahdi Ali Shabab Alahli head coach congratulated his players for their good performance, indicating that the there is second leg and they have to be focused to secure reaching cup final.

He said, “We came with a great desire to achieve a result that enhances our chances. The match was closed and there were not many opportunities, but we succeeded in taking advantage to score two goals.”

 

Mahdi considered that the good results achieved by the team recently is outcome of team work, praising the administration that provided all the requirements, appreciating the effort of the players and their eagerness to sacrifice for the sake of the team.
