Shabab Alahli shares spoils with Aljazira

Shabab Alahli returned to Dubai with a point, after their match against host Aljazira ended 1-1, in the matchweek of the Arabian Gulf League, at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium.

Shabab Alahli raised its tally to 33 points in 4th place, while Aljazira continued to lead with 41 points.

The first half ended with a goalless draw, and Carlos Eduardo scored the first goal for Shabab Alahli in the 60th minute, after a wonderful teamwork, and the team kept its lead until the end of 90 minutes.

In the injury time Aljazira scored the equalizer from a free kick through Milos, to give his side a valuable point, and Shabab Alahli completed the match with ten players after Majed Hassan was sent off in the 90th minute.

Shabab Alahli lineup included: Majed Nasser, Mohammad Marzouq, Hamdan Al-Kamali, Abdel Aziz Heikal, Abdel Aziz Sanqour, Majed Hassan, Abdellah Al-Naqbi, Jalaluddin Masharibov, Carlos Eduardo, Yahya Al-Ghassani and Igor Jesus.

The new singing Uzbek, Adiljon and Saeed Ahmed replaced Yahya Al-Ghassani and Abdulaziz Sanqour in the second half.

 

Speaking at the post match press conference, Mahdi Ali, head coach of Shabab Alahli, congratulated Aljazeera for winning a point, indicating that it strengthened their chances of winning the league title, adding that his team performed well and fought hard to win.

Mahdi explained that Shabab Alahli has a match every three days, while their opponent enjoys a longer period of rest, pointing out that the match referee ignored clear foul for Shabab Alahli and returned to award Al-Jazira a free kick to score the equalizer in  the injury time.
