Shabab Alahli to quarterfinal of UAE President’s Cup

 

Shabab Alahli qualified for the quarterfinals of the UAE President’s Cup, after beating Al-Nasr 2-1 at Zabeel stadium on Tuesday evening.

The two teams failed to reach the back of the net in the first 45 minutes,

Just nine minutes after the start of the second half, Shabab Alahli got the lead when the Brazilian Leonardo de Souza scored the first goal, from free kick.

Shabab Alahli extended their lead just three minutes after the first goal, through the defender Mohamed Marzouk.

Al-Nasr intensified thier attacks in order to deficit the gap, Alvaro Negredo succeeded in scoring a goal in the 72nd minute, Al-Nasr tried to equalize but fail to score the second goal until the final whistle.

Shabab Alahli lineup included: Majed Nasser, Mohamed Marzouq, Mohamed Jaber, Abdelaziz Haikal, Walid Abbas, Abdellah Alnaqbi, Eid Khamis, David Mariani, Lovanor, Leonardo, Ahmed Khalil, in the last ten minutes, the head coach made three changes, Federico Cartabia, Hassan Ibrahim, and Ahmed Jishk, replace Ahmed Khalil, Eid Khamis and Lovanor.
