Shabab Alahli raised its tally to 26 points and moved to the 3rd place, after beating Emirates fc 2-1, in the matchweek 14 of the ADNOC Professional League, at Rashid Stadium.
Shabab Alahli took the lead earlier through Cartabia, in the 13th minute, after brilliant pass from new singing Thomas Olsen.
Two minutes after the break, Thomas Olsen extend the lead by scoring the second goal, while the Emirates reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute by Reyes.
In the last minutes, the referee awarded a penalty after Cartabia being fouled in the area, Cartabia failed to convert the penalty to goal, and the match ended 2-1.
Shabab Alahli lineup included, Majed Nasser, Mohammad Jaber, Walid Abbas, Badr Nasser, Abdelaziz Haikal, Abdellah Al-Naqbi, Ahmed Nour Allah, Cartabia, Guillermi DaSilva, Hareb Abdellah, Thomas Olsen.
The second half, witnessed three changes as Guillermi, Hareb Abdellah and cartabia, were replaced by Yahya Al-Ghassani, Mehdi Qayedi and Gostavo.
Speaking at the post press conference, our head coach Mahdi Ali stated that the result is positive and keep the hopes alive in the league title, noting that winning is important for the team moral.
Mahdi expressed his happiness for Thomas and Cartabia who scored the two goals of the match, adding that the team created many chances and could have scored more goals.
